Set on a private stretch of Galu Beach, Kinondo Kwetu is an intimate luxury resort, situated well away from its neighbours and any interruptions. The peaceful and tranquil resort is run by a Swedish family and has a homely charm, with accommodation for just 38 guests at a time. There are a number of different styles of accommodation for guests to choose from, as well as two swimming pools, one deep enough for guests to practice their scuba diving.

Situated on a private stretch of Galu Beach, about 1.5 hours' drive from Mombasa.
Accommodation & Facilities
There are a variety of accommodation on offer here, depending on the number of people travelling. Three of the cottages have en-suite double bedrooms with a veranda looking out over the sea. The fourth has a connecting single room with a separate entrance and shared en-suite bathroom. Cottage 5 has two floors; upstairs there is an en-suite double, while downstairs there is a double with a connecting single sharing a bathroom. Both of the floors have separate entrances for privacy. Mama Taa is a large house with two en-suite double rooms, complete with sea views and a veranda; three doubles with connecting twin rooms; and a suite called ‘Anderson’s Room’, which is perfect for honeymooners or families with small children. The main house is called Mama Tina and has one double and two single rooms. There are also stables on site, two swimming pools, a shop, boathouse and a yoga house.
Dining
Both lunch and dinner are three-course affairs, comprised of local ingredients including fish caught that very same day by the local fishermen. Lunch can be served in the boathouse, under shady trees or on the beach. Evening dinner can be served in a variety of locations, under the stars, in your suite or even in the gardens.
Activities
Kinondo Kwetu offers a wide range of activities as well as a perfect spot to sit back and do absolutely nothing. PADI scuba diving lessons are available which run from beginners to advanced. Snorkeling, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, water-skiing and wakeboarding can also be enjoyed. Guests are free to take advantage of the stables and go horse riding down the beach, or in the sacred ‘Kaya’ forests. You could also play tennis or head out on a boat excursion. Spa treatments and a range of other activities, including golfing and deep-sea fishing, can also be arranged.
Child Policy
All ages are welcome at Kinondu Kwetu and cots/extra beds are available on request.
Responsible Tourism
Kinondo Kwetu works with the local Kinondo Village, recruiting many of their staff from here. The Kinondo Kwetu Trust Fund has been established which helps with providing healthcare to the villages and supports the education of the local children.
