Accommodation & Facilities
Medina Palms is split into two separate areas – Palmerie and Medina.
Within Palmerie, the suites and villas overlook the surrounding tropical gardens and nearly all have sea views. Each suite and villa has access to the pools and also have direct access to the private Medina beach. Each accommodation contains a large en-suite bedroom(s), well-appointed kitchen, generous lounge and dining areas and a plunge pool to cool off after a day of being in the African sun.
Medina offers suites, penthouses and ocean lodges that surround lush gardens and pools, many with sea views. The suites feature two large en-suite bedrooms with king size double/twin beds, a spacious open plan kitchen with dining area and the living rooms open up onto the tropical gardens and pools. The penthouses each contain an internal courtyard, two large en-suite bedrooms with king size double/twin beds and a vast kitchen and dining area. Above this, the rooftop has a spacious lounge with terraces and a private plunge pool. The third option, the ocean lodges, are set at tree-top level to catch the sea breeze and offer three large en-suite bedrooms and an open plan kitchen and dining area. On the roof top, the relaxation terrace is paired perfectly with a private plunge pool.
DINING
Medina Palms have many locations on where you can dine each day. From the Amandina Restaurant to the Star Lounge, you are ensured to find the finest food and drink in some of the most pleasant surroundings you can find on Kenya’s coast.
Each dining location allows for different types of cuisine, from Mediterranean, Moroccan and African to fresh juices, sandwiches, tapas and cocktails.
If you would prefer to dine in private, the Star Lounge can be booked privately for special occasions, or you can dine in the comfort of your own accommodation where the Medina Palms can provide a personal chef to create your own personalised menu.
Activities
Medina Palms offers trips to Tsavo National Park, Kenya’s largest wildlife reserve, and recommends an overnight stay to give the best chance of seeing wildlife. Alternatively, safari’s further afield in the Masai Mara or elsewhere can also be arranged.
If you’re an avid snorkeler or diver, the Watamu Marine Reserve is home to some of East Africa’s best reefs for both beginners and experienced divers. With beautiful shallow coral reefs and the greater depths of the turtle reef, you’re sure to come across copious amounts of marine wildlife. There have also been sightings of Medina Palms’ harmless white-tip reef sharks.
As well as the above, Medina Palms also offers water sports, world class big game fishing, sunset dhow cruises, championship golf, gede ruins adventures, watamu turtle sanctuary visits, mountain biking and so much more.
Child Policy
Medina Palms welcomes children of all ages and, for their youngest guests, they supply baby cots on request. For children aged 2-8 years, there is a fun and interactive camp called Nemo’s Cave. Alternatively, a babysitting service can be provided during the day as well as in the evenings for a small hourly fee.
