Setting

Set within 10 acres of private land in the Karen region of Nairobi; just 20 minutes from the city centre and 40 minutes from the international airport.

Accommodation & Facilities

There is an assortment of accommodation to choose from at the Ngong House. There is a suite in the main house which is ideal for disabled people or a private log cabin which is perfect for families as they sleep 6. There is also a private cottage which faces the swimming pool as well as 6 tree houses to choose from. Each of the rooms are uniquely decorated and many of them have a bath made out of a canoe!

The Ngong House is a perfect base to explore Nairobi from; after your exciting days you can arrive back and relax with a cocktail by the campfire under an acacia tree. There are fully stocked bars within the main house as well as in each of the treehouses.

Free Wi-Fi is available as well as a computer and a printer which is available for all the guests to use. Penny Winter has a boutique shop within the grounds which offers a range of beautiful, one off clothing designs.

Dining

The cuisine at Ngong House is focused upon being fresh and light, using as much local produce as possible. Within the grounds there is a herb garden and ample fruit trees which frequent the menus regularly. Breakfast and lunch are served in the gardens and dinner is served around the grand fireplace.

Activities

There are a number of parks and sanctuaries surrounding the Ngong House; a must see is the Giraffe Centre which is home to the endangered Rothschild giraffe. The Nairobi National Park is a short distance away as well as the elephant and rhino orphanage.

Child Policy

All children are allowed to stay at the Ngong House but there are steep, unguarded stairs en route to the tree houses which may not be suitable for young children. The lodge can supply cots and highchairs on request.
