Setting
Being so close to the Tanzania border means a very high concentration of game, especially during the migration when the wildebeest and zebra are known to cross the Mara River. The location is unique and offers adventurers remarkable opportunities, from finding the Big 5 to relaxing with a sundowner whilst watching the hippos frolic in the river from your private veranda.
Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation is tented, but spacious with two mosquito netted queen size beds and spacious wooden veranda with day bed overlooking the Mara River. Bathrooms have twin basins, hot showers and flushing toilets with mosquito netting from floor to ceiling. Rooms are elegantly decorated with an African theme using hand crafted furniture and fittings, with two queen sized beds.
Everything is at your own pace at Olonana, meals and other activities can be tailored around your wishes. You can also make use of your very own personal butler throughout your stay, who will take care of your every whim.
Dining
The chefs make great use of their organic garden, producing some fantastic food which can be enjoyed in the dining room, overlooking the Mara River, outside on the embankment or in the bush.

Sanctuary Olonana was built with sustainability in mind. They run a couple of projects, such as tree planting and a water filtration wetland system, and have a Gold Eco Rating certificate from Eco Tourism Kenya. Thede, Josep Ole Koyie, is the first Eco Rated guide in Kenya, with the Eco Guide Award.
